FILMAMERICA ® CELEBRATES 40 YEARS
Producing Critically Acclaimed, Award-Winning Documentaries on the Arts for PBS and Educational Distribution

- FILMAMERICA is a not-for-profit corporation producing critically acclaimed, award winning documentaries and performance programming on the arts broadcast nationally on PBS. FilmAmerica distributes these productions to schools, colleges, universities, public libraries, and museums as teaching aids for over 40 years. Formed to showcase the creative artist and the role of the arts in society to inform and inspire a new generation of artists. FilmAmerica is dedicated to bringing the arts to an ever-widening audience while exploring new technologies and providing opportunities for young filmmakers.
- NEW INITIATIVES: “The FilmAmerica Collection” at Yale University Library. Yale University Library, Oral History of American Music, OHAM, has acquired over 100 hours of film, video and audio interviews with the composers, choreographers, and historians chronicling 20th century music. This resource is available to students and scholars for research, preservation, conservation to digital media.
- INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITIONS: FilmAmerica has participated in major national and international exhibitions providing film clips and audio materials notably “The Steins Collect: Matisse, Picasso and the Parisian Avant Garde” New York, Paris, San Francisco.

As producer and director he has overseen 40 years of critically acclaimed, award winning programs for FilmAmerica, working closely with PBS stations across country, expanded FilmAmerica’s educational outreach, explored new technologies from film to video tape to high definition and digital media. Made its programming available on film, VHS, and DVD to schools, colleges, and universities nationwide. Established FilmAmerica as a nationally registered trademark. With The FilmAmerica Collection at Yale University Library we continue to work to ensure the preservation and accessibility of this valuable legacy.
